Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good-Very Good
With the great weather the fishing has picked up, along with the crowds. Remember when I said there were lots of scuds, well now they're eating them. Anything from tiny little Tricos (8-10 am) to BWO (blue wing olive) and PMD's 11-1. Yes Tricos, only 3 months early. Caddis are getting to be the main attraction, especially in the morning. The dry fly fishing has been excellent depending on the timing of the hatch. Please be mindful of other anglers there are plenty of spots to fish on Hot Creek. The fish (including the bigger ones) seem to be moving into the faster, shallower water so shorten up and keep your drifts real short. The fish are in there and they're hungry. AND the weed beds are coming back with a vengeance.
