Starting temperature was warm all week. Zero mosquitoes so less to pack for the trip. Trophies didn't arrive yesterday due to staff issues. Also, fishing has been slow due to the lack of stocking and all the pressure from 2020 when Inyo Forest was shut down and the fire.

The stock truck arrived with 1200 pounds from DFW and BFEF trophy fish. Woohoo!

BAIT: Worms, salmon eggs, power worms, powerbait, micetails and pinched crawlers.

LURES: Red/gold Buoyant, Yellow/red dots Panther Martin, silver/blue Kastmaster

FLY AND BUBBLE: Not much action there, but up above it's better.

FLY RODS: Streamers, damsels, emergers and tiny-tiny black gnats. Rickard's

BACKCOUNTRY: fly & bubble or fly rod with tiny midges, cluster midges, black gnats. Small Super Dupers, "O" gold Mepps. Fly rodders are doing ok in the upper lakes with small gnats and C&R.

NOTE: If the trout bleeds don’t throw it back into the lake, it will die and IT ATTRACKS BEARS. If you care about the resource please be careful when releasing fish back into the water.

Virginia Lakes Resort is located near the top of Conway Summit between Mono Lake and Bridgeport, CA. We have everything you need to enjoy the Eastern Sierra. Check out our WEBSITE.
