Now things are getting really confusing. The flows are up but now the nightime temperatures have gone back up. All this might be academic with the forest closures. But that might not be as simple as it sounds. Some of the East Walker runs through forest service land but that forest is not under the same regulations as the rest of California, although there's been info saying that they may close after all. The official list of open waters in Mono county does not contain the East Walker so I would lean towards staying away. I talked to someone at Ken's and they're also going with staying away from the Walker for now.

10:30 at the bridge and half way from bridge to Murphey's pond 63 degrees
2:00 same locations 71 degrees but at the dam it was 66 degrees
The big key is nighttime temperatures, but note the difference between 8/19 and 8/20. One more cold night and the temperature up by the dam stayed cool for longer.
