There is some really good fishing in the offshore waters but many of the cruisers are still targeting the easier dorado fishing at the buoys. High boat for the week, \"Aries I\", reflected 3 sailfish and 2 yellowfin tuna (to 90 lbs.) for 2 fishing days and the Aries V reflected 1 sailfish and 1 blue marlin, along with 11 dorado, for a single fishing day. The Aries III had a single sailfish and limits of dorado for a single offshore fishing day. The inshore fishing was another fine week of dynamite dorado fishing with most of the boats having easy limit style fishing along with many fish released.

Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 79 nights to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Just enough tropical breezes to cool the boats off while fishing. Sea temps ranged from 84-86 degrees.

Best Fishing Areas: Out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid, 20-24 miles for the billfish and tuna and at the shark buoys for the dorado.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged mullet working very well on the sailfish and bigger dorado in the offshore waters and the tuna taken on the larger artificials. Dorado at the buoys still eager on most anything that wiggles in the water.
