***Update*** The Siletz Basin will have a limited wild coho fishery this year from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 with a limit of 1 wild coho per day and 1 wild Coho for the season. It’s a “one and done” season bag limit. See the regulation update section above for more information about open areas and aggregate limits for the NW and SW zones.

Summer steelhead continues to be slow on the Siletz and the numbers of fish returning this year is low. The recent rains and cooler water temperatures have helped the conditions but the low return is still making the summer steelhead fishing tough. Fishing pressure continues to be very light.

Fall Chinook has been slow on the Siletz as of late. Nice fish are being caught every day throughout the estuary from the mouth to the upper portions of the tidewater. The forecasted rain and cooler weather should stir things up and have fish moving around.

Trout fishing in streams remains open through Oct. 31. Check the regulations for open areas and bait restrictions.
