We are very excited to report some of the best fishing on the Trinity River that our guides have seen in recent years. We have had a lot of good weather (rain!) this year resulting in elevated flows and great numbers of fish from Lewiston down to Pigeon Point. The river fished great yesterday as it experienced a big surge in flows due to our latest storm. The river is already in good shape again today. We have also been relieved that we haven't experienced much in the way of sedimentation due to the fires this summer.
The Trinity River is a great destination for both nymph/indicator techniques and spey techniques. If you are looking for a great two-handed casting experience on the Trinity, check guide schedules for Gino Bernero, Randy Hamann, Drew Griffith, and Josh James. Brian Kohlman and Peter Santley are comfortable with all techniques. Our single-hand crew includes Luke Geraty, Kevin Kay and Mike Wright.
The Trinity should fish well from now through March. Most anglers consider October through February to be the prime months on this steelhead fishery.
