Striper have been reliable for anglers using both bait and lures. The bait anglers soaked cut sardines and anchovies after check gates and along inside bends. Jumbo live minnows, bloodworms, and lugworms have been getting bites too. Lure anglers reported fishing early or late in the day to fool striper. The usual line-up of flukes, small swimbaits, and jerkbaits have been working the best. Catfish anglers reported another solid week of fishing using chicken liver, dip bait, and cut anchovies. Largemouth bass slowed a bit last week, but a few local anglers reported catching plenty of smaller bass using Senkos after check gates.
