The Canyon Dam boat ramp was opened for use this morning

The Canyon Dam boat ramp was opened for use this morning. Plumas Pines pulled their dock yesterday so Canyon Dam is the only public ramp available on Almanor. Thanks to the USFS for your efforts, one more step in the healing process of our fishing/boating community.
As in past years the ramp is not a top priority with snow removal and it may take a couple of days after big snow events before it gets plowed.

Water flows on the North Fork Feather River below Canyon Dam will increase and decrease from Dec. 7-10 while Pacific Gas and Electric Company tests new controls on water gates at the dam.   PG&E will gradually increase and decrease flows repeatedly.  The higher flows will occur within the Canyon Dam Reach, a 10-mile stretch of the North Fork Feather River between the dam and the Belden Reservoir in Caribou in Plumas County.   PG&E advises those recreating near this portion of the river......
