Lake Evans received its second trout stocking for the year on Monday, and since then anglers have been filling stringers with some hefty trout. Most of the action came for anglers soaking dough baits, Mousetails, or nightcrawlers, but Gent Bent Baits Minijigs also did a number on the trout. Kastmasters and spinners worked well too. Catfish anglers reported slow fishing, but a better grade of whisker fish has been biting lately. The catfish ate chicken liver, fresh shrimp, and dip bait soaked on the bottom. Bass anglers reported using drop shot Roboworms, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits to fool largemouth.
