SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 WILL BE THE O. P. BALL MEMORIAL "FISHING IN THE PINES" FREE KIDS DERBY
This is an annual event and we are planning a fun day for all kids that come to the lake. There will be goody bags for each child. A free day of fishing for all kids four to fifteen years of age. San Diego Anglers will be cooking up a great hot dog lunch with all the trimmings. Great prizes for the biggest trout in each of three age groups. Stay tuned for more info as we get closer to the Derby date.

DFG brought us over 1,000 pounds of very nice fish this week. Rainbows of varying sizes, including some over a pound.

Best Trout Bait: Nightcrawlers, Power Bait
Best Spots: North Shore Dike, Lone Pine, Buoy Line by the dam

Notables: Marc Lopez of Agunga, CA caught a catfish weighing 10 pounds, 28 inches long on a white crappie jig. Kevin Nakashima of Chula Vista caught 5 trout, weighing 6.5 pounds. The largest weighed in at 2.5 pounds. He was using purple Power Bait and a nightcrawler. Ian Coley of Santa Ysabel caught 5 trout weighing in at 8 pounds. He was using power bait/ inflated jumbo night crawlers.

THE FREE FISHING CLASS IS ON SATURDAY AT 10 AM MEET RANGER CHARLIE AT THE LAUNCH RAMP.

THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS BEFORE A LAUNCH. A FEE IS CHARGED.
