  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 2,000 pounds of trout the week of February 7th. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds will go into the lake the week of February 21st. Did you know 10% of every stock is 3+ pounds? For a complete stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? The trout bite was slow this weekend, but the tried and true locations were still producing - Hermit Cove, Siesta Cove, and Eagle Cove. The trout have moved farther from the shoreline with the warming temps, but shoreline fishing can still be productive with the right bait and rig. Trout can't seem to resist the rainbow powerbait! Treble hooks are ideal for holding powerbait as the spring reduces the chance of the bait coming off while casting. Make sure to cover the whole hook and work out any cracks so water doesn't get in the dough. The powerbait nuggets/eggs are a great bait for farmed trout because it mimics what they eat at the hatchery. Many fishermen have reported success using lunker spray for trout fishing. It not only acts as an attractant, but masks your smell if you spray your bait and tackle with it. Try using garlic scented. Only 5 more stockings until the trout season draws to a close! Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
