Another week of good variety action from Puerto Morelos, but only
light angler activity for the 7 days fished. This are produces a
wide spectrum of great table-fare fish and this week was no
different. The catches reflected 2 red snapper, 1 Sierra, 3 mutton
snapper, 7 grouper, 7 queen fish, 2 king mackerel, 1 triggerfish and
7 barracuda and 1 plum fish, (no, I have no idea what a \"plum fish\"
is or looks like and I have a hunch it\'s a local name).
Puerto Morelos Climate: Partly cloudy days for the most part, though
today was a rainy & windy day, temps from 72 nights to 93 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: With exception of today, (rough & bumpy) the sea
conditions were favorable with light tropical surface winds and
stable sea temps at 82-83 degrees.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo continue to dominate
in this area.
