Fishing was good at Castaic Lake last week with striper taking baits and lures. Windy days made for tough fishing conditions, but anglers scored some solid striper while using cut baits and blood worms. The fish have been biting well in the ski arm in about 25 to 60 feet of water. Striper also went for trolled umbrella rigs, small swimbaits, and flies. Bass anglers reported scattered fish holding in 10 to 40 feet of water. Finesse baits, spoons, and small swimbaits have been getting some attention from the large and smallmouth. Trout anglers used dough bait, minijigs, and lures to coax bites along the dam, and catfish went for cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait.
