The full moon seriously curtailed the fishing action for the Mazatlan
fleets and the overall catches, both inshore and offshore were hard
hit and the fleet is hoping for an increase with the movement into
the first quarter of the moon. Adding to the lack of fish was the
lack of anglers for the fleet that kept the fish counts low. Overall
counts for 7 offshore fishing days reflected 3 sailfish and 2 dorado
for their efforts and inshore, 3 super panga fishing days produced 1
dorado and 15 pargo.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy with temps from 73 nights to 93
daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Overall, it appears to be near excellent with temps
from 86-87 throughout the are, good clarity and very light surface
winds.
Best Fishing Area: None reported for the offshore fishing as the
boats fished over a wide span of water.
Best Lure/bait: The total of the offshore fish were taken on rigged
baits.
