https://www.docksidedepoebay.comHowdy Y'all, it's Trejan on the Sunrise again. Today we left the harbor at 6:30 with 9 people. It took us 10 minutes to set our pots, and we made it to the fishing grounds shortly after. We ended up getting 6 fish on our first drift, which is fairly good. On our second drift though, we got 21. In total, we got more than half our fish in our first two drifts. We ended up getting the rest of our rockfish in the next few drifts. After we limited out, we went Lingcod fishing. We did this for about an hour before it was time to get our crab. We got our crab, and wrapped up our journey by heading into the harbor. It was a great day fishing overall, and a fantastic day to go fishing with Tradewinds.

Passengers and crew of the Sunrise got a two for one deal during their fishing trip this morning! While out Bottom Fishing some Gray Whales decided to cruise by and wave a farewell flipper to their bony finned friends. As Gray Whales are baleen cetaceans, bottom fish (rockfish and ling cod) are not part of their daily diets but the whales do gather amphipod crustaceans near the sea floor so these creatues do have instances of interaction.
