Sportfishing Parking Press Release
 
The Port of San Diego has been working with San Diego Sportfishing and other neighboring businesses to address parking policy, add more parking spaces, and streamline the time it takes to exit the parking lot.
 
SPORTFISHING PARKING RATES WILL REMAIN THE SAME!  ONLY THE PROCESS HAS CHANGED.
 
This pay process will reduce the number of vehicles that are left for long periods or abandoned in our lots.  This alone will create more opportunity for sportfishing customers.

The Ace parking app. can be downloaded from the app store at any time and works like any other app where you simply follow the prompts.  If an angler is not comfortable using apps, the machines may be used to make payment.
 
The San Diego Sportfishing Landings are confident that this new process will result in more available parking spaces, more payment options, and more streamlined egress from the lot.

ANGLERS MAY DOWNLOAD THE ACE PARKING APP BEFORE ARRIVAL.
 
Payment may now be made via pay machines or the online app, using credit card or cash.  Pay stations are in use everywhere now and offer a variety of ways to pay.  In the past, credit cards were not accepted in the sportfishing lot.  Now they will be, creating a benefit to the fishermen.  Pay stations will be conveniently located in all parking areas and the app will provide a fast and simple way to pay.  One difference is that payment will be
 

New Tackle recommendations
25 pound outfit for Yellowtail fishing
40 to 60 pound outfits to fish smaller Bluefin Tuna. Under 80 pounds
80 to 130 pound outfits for night time fishing and Sinker Rigs.
2/0 to 4/0 ringed hooks. No thin wire hooks
8 to 12oz Sinkers with rubberbands.
150 to 250 gram flatfall and knife jigs for day time fishing. Color doesn't matter right now. Change the stock hooks.
300 to 400 gram flatfall and knife jigs for day time fishing. Color doesn't matter right now. Change the stock hooks.

The Dolphin 1/2 Day AM caught 100 Calico Bass Released, 24 Calico Bass, 12 Rockfish, 11 Sheephead, 6 Sand Bass for 21anglers. 

The Dolphin 1/2 Day PM caught 100 Calico Bass Released, 23 Calico Bass, 4 Sheephead, 4 Sand Bass for 20 anglers. 

The Liberty just called in with 18 Bluefin tuna 40 to 100 lbs for 24 anglers.

The Tomahawk called in with 12 Bluefin Tuna (40 -80 lbs) and 1 Yellowtail for their extended 1.5 day trip  for 11 anglers and reported an excellent sign of fish. 

The Pegasus called in with 33 Bluefin Tuna (45lb-220lbs, 80lb average) for 19 anglers on thier 1.5 day trip. Seeing lots of fish!

The Pacifc Queen called in with 33 Bluefin Tuna (30-160lbs) on thier Overnight trip for 32 anglers

The Islander called in with 13 Bluefin tuna ranging from 50-200 lbs on their first day of their 2.5 day trip.

The Outrider is returning this morning with 22 Bluefin tuna ranging from 50-180 lbs for their 2.5 day trip with 8 anglers.  The najority of tyhe fish were between 70-100 lbs.

The Fortune is returning this morning with 45 Bluefin tuna for their 16 anglers. The fish range from 30-200 lbs., with  the majority weighing in betwen 60-110 pounds.

The Dolphin PM caught 4 Sand Bass, 2 Sculpin, 21 Calico Bass, 27 Sheephead, and 23 Rockfish for 32 anglers. 

The Liberty caught 10 Bluefin Tuna (40-100 lbs) for 40 anglers on their full day trip.

The Dolphin Am caught 18 Sand Bass, 1 Sculpin, 5 Calico Bass, 17 Sheephead, and 12 Rockfish for 23 anglers. 

The Pegasus returned this morning with 18 Bluefin Tuna (40 to 100 lbs.) for 20 anglers on a 1.5 day trip. 

The Tomahawk is returning this morning with 10 Bluefin Tuna, 3 Yellowtail, and 3 Bonito for 31 anglers on a 1.5 day trip. 

The Pacific Queen returned this morning with 37 Bluefin Tuna (40 to 150 lbs.) for 34 anglers on a 1.5 day trip. 

The Condor is retunring this morning with 9 Bluefin (60 to 110 lbs.) and 1 Bonito for 37 anglers on a 1.5 day trip. 

The Fortune called in this morning with 38 Bluefin Tuna (40 to 200 lbs.) for 16 anglers on a 2.5 day trip. 

6/11/2022
The Tomahawk called in with an update with 5 Bluefin Tuna, 3 Yellowtail, and 3 Bonito for 30 anglers on their 1.5 Day trip. They are still Fishing. 

The Bight called in with an update from their Full Day trip with 5 Bluefin Tuna (110-150lbs) for 5 anglers. 

The Liberty called in with 1 Yellowfin Tuna for 40 anglers on their Full Day trip. 

The Dolphin 1/2 Day AM caught 45 Rockfish, 3 Sheephead, 5 Calico Bass, and 1 Sand Bass for 43 anglers.

The Dolphin 1/2 Day PM caught 30 Rockfish, 12 Calico Bass, 4 Sheephead, 1 Sand Bass, 1 Sculpin and 1 Whitefish for 33 anglers.

The Outrider called in with 5 Bluefin Tuna (60 to 120 lbs.) for 8 anglers to kick off their 2.5 day charter. 

The Colbalt caught 15 Yellowtail for 6 anglers on their Full Day trip. 

The Mustang caught 2 Bluefin Tuna (100lb) for 1

9 anglers on their Overnight trip.
