  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds the week of June 6th. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of July 4th. The catfish stocking schedule can be viewed HERE
  • What's the catch? Night fishing yielded lots of catfish limits and a 59 pound catfish! The big cat was caught near the tower buoy line. Try using dip bait or preserved chicken livers to attract the catfish stock because pieces will break off in the water and create a trail to your hook. Chicken liver in deep water is best for attracting larger cats. Bass are hitting on Senkos and brush hog. The best spots for bass are Sentry Point and Half Moon Cove. The bluegill bite is active at midday. Try half a nightcrawler or wax worms in Sentry Cove. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: The surface temperature around the boat dock is 74 degrees. The sun is rising around 5:40 a.m. and setting around 7:53 p.m. New Moon is June 28th. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • JULY HOURS: We will be opening the lake on Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the month of July in addition to our regular weekend hours. Boat rentals and launches will be available.
  • Campground: The campground shoreline is the perfect place to fish for catfish during the week. No camping reservations required! Sentry and Half Moon Cove are some of the most active coves for cats. The shoreline is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • Day use is available at the campground during the week! We have a couple of picnic areas to BBQ and enjoy the views - one at Sentry Point and the other near the campground entrance next to the horseshoe pits. Make a day of it and rent a horseshoe set for $20! The playground and hiking trails are also open to day users.
  • The campground opens for long term reservations in September. It's never too early to book a campsite for 30 nights or more! If you would like more information about long term camping visit our website HERE.
