The Crooked River has been fishing fair. We haven’t heard much talk in the shop regarding the Crooked but the little bit we have heard has been decent. No reports of catches of large trout but good numbers of smaller 6-12” trout. It seems during the low flows many of the larger fish either migrated downstream or died. ODFW also reported a drastic decrease in the number of whitefish per river mile from 6,950 before the 10 CFS flows to 896 per river mile after. They didn’t find any signs of a large scale fish kill so it is also possible many of these fish migrated downstream. Zebra midges, tailwater tinies, two-bits, scuds, and eggs should all be on your list if you decide to check out the Crooked.
