Open all year. Fihsing is very slow due to cold water temperatures and turbid water. Best fishing is near the outlet and Howard Bay. Catch rates along Howard Bay are extremely low. Klamath County plowed the road into the Campground at Shoalwater Bay.

Odessa Creek boat ramp is closed as gate is locked. Day use is allowed. The Rocky Point Boat ramp is currently blocked by snow.

Hagelstein Park boat ramp, restroom and day use is open. Please remember that nets or traps of any type cannot be used to catch any species of fish. This includes minnows to use for bait. See page 20 of the Sport Fishing Regulations for legal harvest methods for minnows and chubs.

ODFW encourages catch-and-release on this fishery due to record low spawning numbers in 2020 and very low numbers in 2019. Please fight your fish quickly and then release your fish immediately without removing it from the water. Releasing fish is easier with barbless hooks.

The lake is 1.2 feet below full pool and 82 percent full.

Please remember that once you retain your one redband/rainbow trout limit you must stop fishing for redband/rainbow trout. Also, all radio tagged redband trout must be released unharmed. Redband trout will have what looks to be fishing line coming from the abdomen. These fish will be 6-20 inches long.

Nehalem River: The Nehalem is big as of this writing and still on the rise
Nehalem River- North Fork: The North Fork should be fishable and remain so through the weekend
Salmon River: The river is low and clear
Siletz River: Winter steelhead are moving up in the Siletz River
Siuslaw River: The colder temps made the Siuslaw challenging
Trask River: The Trask still has steelhead throughout the fishery
Wilson River: We were still seeing steelhead caught on the Wilson before Sundays rains when it blew out.
Yaquina River: Fishing has been fair the past few week
Ben Irving Reservoir: Trout fishing should be good as it starts to warm up
Cooper Creek Reservoir: Plenty of trout have been stocked over the past few week
Diamond Lake: Ice still lingers on Diamond Lake
Emigrant Reservoir: Emigrant is 47 percent full
Fish Lake : Fish Lake is at 44 percent full
Howard Prairie Reservoir: Howard Prairie is at 21 percent full
Hyatt Lake: Hyatt has started to fill and is 20 percent full
Rogue River - Middle: Current flow is around 6,200cfs and temperature in the low-40s
Rogue River- Upper: Reports of the first springer caught in the upper river came in over the weekend
Rogue River- Upper (Above Lost Creek): Trout releases will start again in July
Smith River: The Smith has come up with recent rains
Umpqua River: Anglers have had poor luck on the mainstem Umpqua over the past week with steelhead fishing slowing down
North Umpqua River: Steelhead fishing continues to decline
Willow Lake: The reservoir is 100 percent full and the boat ramp is usable
Gerber Reservoir: The reservoir remains low at 29 percent full but is filling fast
