The lake is completely iced-off and angling has been steady. Some anglers have been limiting out, but catch rates are not particularly high. However, a fair number of 16-inch range trout have been being caught.
Anglers should check with the Umpqua National Forest (541-498-2531) for information on camps and ramps. Even though warmer weather is upon us, it is likely the campgrounds and ramps will take some time to clear before anglers can use them.
Diamond Lake has been stocked with tiger and brown trout. These fish are intended to assist in controlling illegally introduced tui chub. These trout are catch-and-release only and need to be released immediately and unharmed if caught.
