Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good or Poor, a day to day situation
We're stuck in a rut, good today but we'll see what the future brings. It's easy to blame the water level fluctuation but it's fishing, we'll probably never know. Very streaky, not only in the quality but depth and location. The best area has been McGee and the fish have been moving all over the place, now it's 14-40+ feet. The only thing that seems sort of consistent is they do move deeper later in the morning. The Callibaetis hatch is picking up and the damsels shouldn't be far behind. The best fishing has been late morning/early afternoon so when the wind comes up has been the big deciding factor. There are some interesting changes, very early has improved as well as very shallow so don't be afraid to explore. The weed beds are close to the surface now but with the way the lake's coming up it's going to be a little longer until we can fish the lanes and the holes. Those small Browns they've been stocking ( 8-13") are now all the way from Crooked Creek to McGee Bay.
