Anglers are picking up quite a few Chinook in the estuary. Most anglers are fishing flashers with some combination of spinner, hoochie, or an anchovy behind it. Chinook are also being caught on the typical Rogue Bay rig which is a straight anchovy or an anchovy with a spinner blade.‌

Huntley Park seining project has started. Seining is conducted 3 times a week approximately 8 miles upstream from the mouth of the river and is a valuable tool to monitor the escapement of fall Chinook, summer steelhead, and coho into the Rogue River. Two-week updates are posted on ODFW's website and can be a valuable tool to help anglers figure out when to go fishing.
