The Metolius has been fishing well. There are salmonflies, golden stones, a variety of caddis, BWO’s, and PMD’s around on the river that have been making for some fun dry fly opportunities when you find yourself in the right place at the right time. When fish aren’t actively surface feeding, euro and indicator nymphing have both been effective. Using heavier tungsten flies to make sure you get a nice deep drift. Golden stones, duracells, pheasant tails, copper johns, and rainbow warriors are some of our favorites. Large streamers swung, stripped, or dead drifted will work for targeting bull trout.
