As of 1/11/24 ice is NOT safe at South Fork Reservoir. NDOW and State Parks recommend you stay off the ice. High winds have resulted in areas of open water that are still open to shoreline fishing from Coyote Cove and Jet Ski Beach.

Fishing hot spots are along Coyote Cove and the Jet Ski Beach area on the southwest shore, and between the East Campground and Hastings Cove (boat ramp) on the east side.Worms and PowerBait are working well from shore for spinning rods, and fly fisherman are having luck with leech patterns with a trailing beadhead. Most catches are rainbow trout in the 15″-18” range, with a few brown trout in the mix.
