Wildhorse Reservoir is completely full and spilling. Water temps are in the high 40’s to low 50’s. Beach access is a bit limited right now due to the higher water levels. The boat dock at the State Park has been repaired and is in place for boaters. Within the last week, the reservoir has been stocked with trout, catfish and wiper. With the varied weather patterns, trout fishing has been a bit sporadic but will continue to improve as the weather stabilizes into June. Trout anglers should have luck with rooster-tails, spoons, or Rapalas. Anglers fishing from a boat could do well trolling flashers, spoons, and Rapalas, in shallower depths. Anglers that are fly fishing may have success stripping wooly bugger or leech patterns, or fishing balanced leeches and midge patterns under an indicator.  Bass fishing will pick up in June when water temps increase. Black bass are catch and release only through June 30th.
