The Upper Deschutes is providing "okay" fishing opportunities. Nymphing remains the most reliable tactic, with patterns such as psycho princes, san juans, duracells, jigged leeches, rainbow warriors, and copper johns all performing well. Dry-dropper setups can be both enjoyable and effective. Stripping streamers around undercut banks and downed timber might hook you into a fish or two, but beware of potential snags. Be ready with caddis and PMD patterns for moments when you encounter risers. Remember that Sheep’s Bridge is closed from September 1st through April 21st for Kokanee spawning.
