The Lower Deschutes River is heating up, particularly with October Caddis hatching in the afternoon and evening. This time of year stonefly nymphs are all highly effective patterns for both trout and steelhead and you can combine those with other perdigons or, believe it or not, two bits. With steelhead starting to migrate upstream, we're seeing them in the day-stretch and we should have a good fall season full of fantastic opportunities for targeting these hard-fighting fish. If you’re looking to hook up with steelhead, now is the time to get those sink tips and intruders ready—though we’ve still seen plenty of steelhead taken on floating lines. If you’re looking for dates to book a steelhead trip we do have October dates open but don’t hesitate to book, now's the time!
