Recent reports have been varied, some have said it is super good and others have reported so-so fishing. Pit 3 will be difficult to access from now until December 21st as PG&E is burying power transmission lines, the road is closed Mon-Fri during the day at the Clark Creek Rd junction to just past the Pit 4 Dam. As we swing into the fall the flies that will shine are the Perdigons, Hotspots and Rubberlegs. October Caddis are beginning to come off, you should bring some Pupa patterns like Mercer's TB October Pupa.
This is a great river to fish a Euro rod and we highly recommend it. Be careful though, this can be a slippery river to wade. We recommend a wading staff when fishing the Pit.
Be aware that the flows on the Pit can and will change without notice, so definitely check before you go! And be prepared to get out when the river begins to rise.
Here are some useful links to monitor the flows:

Pit 5 - Through Big Bend
