As fall sets in, the Crooked River is shaping up to be one of the best fishing spots of the season. Dry fly enthusiasts will find Mahogany Duns making their appearance, though PMDs, BWO’s, and Caddis—especially tan Elk Hair—remain viable options. For nymphing, try patterns like Perdigons, jig Napoleon, and two bits for the best results. Purple Haze has been working well for dry flies too. The flows have dropped and are expected to remain steady for now, creating favorable conditions.
