Ice is covering ~90% of Comins Lake. The ice thickness varies from ½ to 2 inches, with areas of exposed water. All ice should be considered unsafe. There is limited shoreline fishing opportunity at this time.  Shoreline access should improve with warmer daytime temperatures forecasted at the end of this week. Shoreline anglers should try a mix of spinners, nightcrawlers, PowerBait, and a fly behind a bubble. Fall trout stocking included 10,043 rainbow trout averaging 8.9 inches, and fish are weighing in between 1.5lbs and 4lbs.

There is a limited bluegill fishery at Comins Lake and anglers are encouraged to release bluegill in order to better establish their population.  Please note that NDOW has placed radio tags in several Northern Pike. Any pike over 24 inches in length that have transmitters can be removed from the lake. These pike will have an orange floy tag near their dorsal fin and a small antenna (~ 7 inches long) coming from their stomach.  Please return these fish to the water for research purposes.
