The Metolius continues to fish well, with nymphing being the most consistent approach. Tan and October Caddis Pupa, 2-Bit Hookers, eggs, golden stones, Perdigons, jigs, and soft hackles are all solid choices, with caddis pupae standing out as particularly effective.

Afternoon BWOs are still making an appearance, and while their tall wings can make them look bigger, a #18 is the right choice. Having a mix of emergers, cripples, and duns will help dial in the hatch. Little Black Stones are another factor—watch for them along the banks and use a #16-18 Black Elk Hair Caddis when fish are feeding on top.

Midges remain key, with Zebra Midges and Winker patterns producing well when fished deep. Bull Trout are still active, taking streamers, eggs, and nymphs along with the resident trout.
