The Liberty ventured to the Coronado Islands, where anglers experienced excellent Yellowtail action. Fish were caught using surface irons and live bait, with many in the 15-20 pound range.

Tackle Recommendations:

Rod and Reel: A 7-8 foot bait rod rated for 20-50 pound test line, such as the Shimano Talica II 2-Speed Lever Drag Reel paired with a matching rod, is ideal for Yellowtail.
Line: 30-40 lb test line.
Lures: Surface irons like the Tady 45 are popular choices for Yellowtail.
