Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing

Pyramid is kicking out some toads. Well, it is Pyramid Lake, I guess. The weather has been amazing and the fall like temps keep hanging around. The water temp in the lake is way warmer than a normal December and that second season we always talk about has been extended by a month or more. It’s time to go!!!  Daytime highs are in the 50’s and 60’s all the way until Christmas. The full moon is gone on the 4th, and the rest of the month should be amazing.

Fish are being caught all kinds of different ways. That is what happens when there are fish around and hungry. This warm weather has them gorging and getting bigger by the day. The big ones want to eat big baits. Balanced Leeches and Wooly worms and Tadpoles are the fly minnow imitations for the lake. Flies | Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing  Midnight Cowboys, Loco Tadpoles in White or Chartreuse and Balanced Minnows in black have been catching some of the biggest fish. You can catch fish with an indicator and a midge or nymph as well. There are midges hatching on most days and the fish are eating them. The big fish will eat small food if it is in the right place at the right time. (Keep Fishing).  Red Wine, Albino Wino, Copper Top Midges have all been catching fish. Our Guide packs allow you to purchase flies from the store and let us pick out what is working for you. Best thing we have ever sold. Flies | Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing
