Dorado continue to be the predominant fish for the area with most boats catching 4-5 fish per day. The Pacific striper action continues at the rate of 50% or so, with every other boat reporting a catch or release of a billfish. Interestingly, all of the billfish are still being taken on the Pacific side of Cabo, too. Overall catches resulted in a near 6 fish per boat average for the combined total of 45 fished days, reflecting 22 stripers, (19 releases) 29 yellowfin tuna, 3 skipjack tuna, 3 wahoo, 1 roosterfish and 201 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Sunny, Picture perfect days, with temps from 63 nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Just like the weather, excellent. From the Finger Bank to the Golden Gate, sea temps were at 78. A temp break at the Jaime Bank, rising to 81 and slowly rising from there to 82 at the Gorda Banks. Light surface breezes and little swell.

Best Fishing area: Continues to be on the Pacific side, from Golden Gate Bank to Jaime Bank and in toward the beach.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait was by far the best for billfish and also worked very well for the dorado. However, many dorado were taken on artificial lures, mostly those being trolled for billfish and in a variety of colors.

Live Bait Supply: Caballitos were readily available throughout the week.
