THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET


Another difficult offshore fishing week from Mazatlan with the chances for catching a billfish at about 41%. While the water temps remain fairly stable and consistent throughout the area, the fish have just not accumulated in any of the recognized fishing areas and the boats are fishing wide area. The overall offshore catches reflected for 22 fishing days reflected 5 stripers, 4 sailfish, 8 dorado, 1 yellowfin tuna, 1 mako shark and 1 hammerhead shark. The inshore fishing from the super pangas has remained fairly active and produced a continued wide variety of fish, including 48 barracuda, 16 pargo, 27 mojarres, 45 cochitos, 1 palometa, 3 toro and 19 sierra.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy days with temps ranging from cool nights at 56 degrees to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Generally, conditions are very good with good clarity and 74-75 degrees throughout the area.

Best Fisihing area: None reported

Best Bait/Lure: The stripers best on artificials & sailfish best on rigged mullet. The inshore super pangas using shrimp and squid.
