THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET

The inshore fishing/catching continues to surpass the offshore fishing, at least for sustained fast action results and a full speed bite on something tugging at the line. The offshore action continued to be slow paced with about a 20% chance for a billfish this past week. The overall offshore counts ffor 21 days fished reflected 4 stripers, 2 dorado and 2 mako shark. The inshore catches for a total of 8 days fished reflected limits of pargo, limits of mojarres, 4 loras, 45 cochitos, 4 red snapper and 60 roncachos.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny and warm days with a few passing clouds and temps that ranged from 55 nights to 85 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Gentle northerly breezes and fairly calm seas throughout the week, with water temps stable at 74-75 degrees, but with a greenish off color tint.

Best Bait/Lure: The stripers were all taken on rigged mullet. The inshore catches were mostly on shrimp and squid.
