Fishing has been super all over the lake this week. The weather has cooperated and since we are pumping water from the East Lake the trout just love it. Pumphous Cove is the place to be. We were heavily stocked with beautiful Sierra Bow trout and Jess Ranch Rainbows this week.
Best Trout Bait: Nightcrawlers, power bait
Best Spots: Pumphouse Cove, Lone Pine
Notables:
(1) Leo Kilian and son Leo 4th caught 4 nice trout and a 16 1/2 pound catfish at pumphouse cove using crawlers on 6# test.
(2) Hank of San Diego caught one trout and 25 Crappie using crawlers and jig at Pumphouse Cove.
(3) Tom Gill of Vista 4 pan size trout and 2 Catfish, the largest 3.2 using Crawlers at Pumphouse Cove.
(4) Johnnie Walker of Newhall and Dann and John King took 10 trout, largest 4.8 pounds using Power Bait.
(5) Keven Lane of San Diego got a 3 hour limit of trout with Rainbow Power Bait.
(6) Norman Stomper of Lakeside was fishing at the willows in a boat and limited out with trout. Largest was 2#
FREE FISHING CLASS STILL HELD AT 10AM AT THE LAUNCH RAMP EVERY SATURDAY. TELL THE RANGER AT THE TACKLE SHOP IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND.
THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS AND MOTORS BEFORE A LAUNCH. ALSO, FLOAT TUBES AND WADERS MUST BE WASHED DOWN BEFORE USING THE LAKE. THERE IS A FEE FOR THE WASH DOWN.
