Congratulations to Captain Michelle Rowley and the Fiesta for they are the #1 vermillion rockfish boat in the land for 2006 !!!! You know how we all love them Reds !!! With numbers like that I was confident Captain Rowley would get myself and the other anglers aboard the recent SFR charter onto some nice reds. With the weather man calling for increasing winds and sea, the captain suggested trying a little deeper water for some of the nicer reds while the wind was down and working in shallower from there depending on the conditions. With strong winds, currents and cold water to contend with we fished hard and caught some nice reds, starries gophers and alot of short lings. We ended the day with limits of rockfish highlighted by Doug Browand's nice red that took big fish honors for the trip. We headed back in through rough seas, some of us feeling better then others, as Jessica filleted and bagged our catch.
