H&M Landing had several boats out: The Indian, fishing on a two-day trip, landed 75 yellowtail and 24 bonito for 24 anglers. The Producer, fishing a ?? trip Sunday, got 11 yellowtail and 21 barracuda for 27 anglers. Chuck Taft's Sea Adventure 80, fishing Sunday with 21 passengers, got 10 yellows and five barracuda, said landing spokesman Larry Buchect.
At Seaforth Sportfishing, Chase Burton at Seaforth said good the New Seaforth had good calico bass fishing off La Jolla Sat morning, with 28 anglers, who had 49 Calicos, two barracuda, and several rockfish. On Sunday morning, barracuda fishing was good, and the boat had good alico bass fishing in the afternoon.
The ?? day boat Seawatch fished with 40 passengers Saturday, for 15 yellowtail, a bonito, five barracuda, eight calico bass, four sand bass and miscellaneous rockfish.
At Fisherman's Landing on Saturday the Prowler had 15 yellowtail for 24 anglers, noted assistant manager Gary White.
Point Loma spokesman Shawn Gray said the Holiday, with Randy Dalo as skipper with 29 passengers aboard, was done with a day and a half trip that got nine yellows, 65 bonito, 19 calico bass, and numerous miscellaneous rockfish.
The highliner was a two-day trip aboard the Grande with owner-operator James McDaniels. His 24 passengers finished with with 38 yellowtail and 20 bonito.
On the long range scene, Vagabond, Shogun and Independence are fishing on five and six-day trips. Dawn Lackey said May 21 that her hubby Mike had the Vagabond fishing for yellowtail with good success in the Cedros/Benitos area. That boat will return Wednesday, the Shogun Thursday and the Independence on Friday.
