Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. We are open from Lake Cuyamaca. We are open daily at 6am. Shore fishing ends at 8pm For all you campers, we now have showers in our north shore campground. See Beckie for details. You can use your canoes and kayaks on the lake. Remember, they will need to be washed down before launching inot the lake. The extremly hot weather has slowed down the trout bite a little. We could not receive a load of trout from DFG this week because of the water temp. Hoping for next week.

Eladro Carrilio took a 13 pound, 9 oz catfish at the Dike. We don't know what he used for bait. Some limits of trout are being caught and fishing should pick up as soon as it cools down a little. The No. Jetty is the place to be. For the kids: The Crappie are biting on the jigs and the wax worms. Give it a try.

The Osprey (fish eagle) is a Summer to Fall visiter to Lake Cuyamaca. This large bird of prey has a white head with black eye bars. He has no white tail like the Bald Eagle. The fish eagle hovers above it's prey, then swoops downward to capture large fish in his large, sharp talons. He is a great fisher and fun to watch. Most days you can see him perched in his favorite Oak tree just outside the Restaurant deck. Don't forget the free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10am ath the launch ramp. Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before launch. Check with staff if you have questions. Ask staff about the geocache game.
