http://www.silverlakeresort.netFishing at Silver Lake does not get much better than it has been the past several weeks. Countless stringers and an abundance of 2 plus pound trout are filling the scales at Silver Lake Resort. The weather continues to stay hot so fishing early in the morning and late in the afternoon is producing the best results. The nights are beginning to cool off a little which should help to bring the fish to the surface a little more. As usual, Power Baits are working well from shore and from boats at the far south end, as well as using a Super Duper or a Thomas Buoyant. The mosquitoes are still out in full force so don't be afraid to tie on a #16 or #18 Mosquito or Green Mosquito, as well as a #14 Sierra Bright Dot, either with the fly rod or an old fashioned spinning rod with a bubble. Trolling about 5 to 6 colors deep with a Thomas Buoyant Speed Shiner (Rainbow or Gold/Red) or a Flat Fish also has been doing very well. The Tasmanian Devils have also been working well late in the day. Silver Lake Resort has also purchased 6 loads of Alpers Trout that will arrive every Monday from last week through September 13th, so fishing should continue to be stellar through the Summer.
Fish Of The Week:
A 3 lb 6 oz Rainbow was caught by Kenny Bush of Mission Viejo trolling a Rapala.
A 3 lb 3 oz Rainbow was caught by Christine Smith of Orange County using Speedy Shiner and Lead Core line.
A 2 lb. 8 oz Rainbow was caught by Katelyn Wilson of Yorba Linda using a worm.
A 1 lb 13 oz rainbow was caught by Kira Kimberlin of Ontario using Salmon Peach Power Bait.
A 1 lb 3 oz rainbow was caught by 3 year old Ethan Scribner of Redlands using Power Bait.
