Trout fishing excellent with limits the rule. Flat-lining needle fish and kastmasters the top producers. Best areas are at the dam and in front of the marina. Both large mouth and small mouth bass taking spoons and cranks in 15' to 25' of water. Catfish still providing good action with mackerel and doughbaits fished in the backs of coves is the best bet. Crappie action fair, small spinners and mini-jigs fished in the narrows accounting for most of the slabs. Blue gill and red ear still no shows this week. Another trout plant slated for Nov. 15th from the Caleveras trout farm. Bow fishing for carp legal as of Oct. 28th 2010. Call the bait shop @ 805-688-440 for more details. Water temperatiure is 70.5.

Trout fishing is definitely on the up-swing, with yet another 4000 lbs. plant on Oct.14. Fish are being caught all over the lake, and trolling 3 to 8 colors, drifting crawlers or bait from shore have all been producing 'bows to 2 lbs. the bass bite has been sporadic, but still good numbers of both small mouth and large mouth are taking a variety of shad baits. The recent trout plant has provided only spotty action for rainbows. Once fish accumiulate, fishing should greatly improve. Another 4,000 lbs. of trout to be planted October 14th. Shad are still up all over the lake and good fishing for small mouth can be had in 15 to 25 feet on a variety of shad baits.
