Trout fishing is strong. Those trolling with Kastmasters, Needlefish and just about any spoon are reporting limits or near limits of 'bows. Bank anglers finding the bite a bit tougher, those using crawlers and powerbait at E-point and Mohawk area are experiencing a scratch bite at best. Cooling water temps. has slowed the Bass bite but anglers still scoring a few off Jack Rabbit Flat and back by the island using spoons and split/drop shot small plastics. Catfish still showing up, using Mackerel and Crawlers, one angler reported 5 lb. Channel on a trolled Needlefish. Crappie and all other Panfish are not being targeted to do the cooler water temp. The few reports that came in were caught back in the Narrows. Arrowhead Island, and Cachuma Bay. Water temperature is 63.

Trout ==> Excellent ==> Average Size ==> 1.5 lbs.
Bass ==> Fair ==> Average Size ==> 1.5 lbs.
Catfish ==> Fair ==> Average Size ==> 4 lbs.
Bluegill ==> Poor
Crappie ==> Poor
Redear ==> Poor

Trout fishing excellent with fish being caught all over the lake. A plant on the 5th improved the already good trout bile. Trolling accounting for most of the 'bows, but bank anglers reported good action as well. Bass fishing has been on a day to day basis. Trout fishing excellent with limits the rule. Flat-lining needle fish and kastmasters the top producers. Best areas are at the dam and in front of the marina. Both large mouth and small mouth bass taking spoons and cranks in 15' to 25' of water. Catfish still providing good action with mackerel and doughbaits fished in the backs of coves is the best bet. Crappie action fair, small spinners and mini-jigs fished in the narrows......
