Anglers experienced perfect weather as well as a good trout bite this Thanksgiving weekend. It seemed that most boaters and bank fisherman alike had some nice Calaveras 'bows on their stringers. Trolling in front of Santa Cruz Bay, Cachuma Bay , and the river channel were the best locations with needle fish, kastmasters, or dodger and crawlers the best offerings. We are receiving another 4000 lbs. plant this Monday, November 29. A little more cooling of the water tremperature and the bite should go wide open. Largemouth dominating the bass bite which has been slow this week. Jigs, spoons and most all deep water techniques producing fish early and late. Crappie action slow as is the other panfish species, and only a few reported this week. Catfsih action has come to a halt finally, as did the carp. Water temperature is 59.5.

Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass ==> Fair ==> Average size: 1.5 lbs.
Bluegill ==> Poor
Carp ==> Poor
Catfish ==> Poor
Crappie ==> Poor
Redear ==> Poor
Trout ==> Good
