Bass fishing has been good for both largies and smallies in just about any cove in the lake. The fish are tight up to the shore, and blades, jerkbaits, drop shot and fly lined plastics have been accounting for the majority of catches.

Trout fishing has been fair, but the "bows" that come in have all been quality, with several between 5 and 7 being weighed in at the tackle shop. Trolling lead core 3 to 4 colors anywhere from the dam to the narrows with dodger/crawler combos, rapalas, or neddlefish is getting the job done. Shore anglers have been getting results floating worms or powerbait in the Harveys Bay area.

Crappie are starting to show some like in the narrows, but no significant numbers as of yet. Cat and bluegill were both no-shows this past week. Bow fishing for Carp has been steady and can be found all over the lake.

The recent cold front has put off the trout bite somewhat, with most anglers reporting only fair action trolling lead core to e colors with flashers and rapalas. There was a 4,000 lb plant from the Calaveras hatchery which should provide excellent action in the upcoming weeks. As far as Bass, it was last known that both largemouth and smallmouth had moved up into shallow water, and were taking a variety of lures. Jerk baits blades, and plastics have all been......
