Without weeds and warmer water fish don't hold in one place on Crowley

The Trout Fitter Staff

Report Date:

http://www.thetroutfitter.com/fshreport.html

Water Conditions:
Crowley is cold and generally clear but not crystal. Uniformly 47-48F everywhere.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
Bait slingers and trollers failed miserably on Opening Day weekend and 100,000 lives were spared! Fish were everywhere but with no weeds or warm water to hold a good concentration any one place. Try west side of McGee, Leighton, Sandy and Hilton as all holding big fish but you must be patient. 12 to 20 ft. depth and spread out.

Recommended Flies:

NYMPHS:
Red/Black Dubbed-head Optimidge #16, Mickie's Red Baron #18 and small leech patterns up top.

DRIES:
Not effective yet.

STREAMERS:
Black Doc's #12 . . . Deep, Dark and Slow!
