June 2, 2007 As you see in my calendar, our season's in full swing....and I thank-you. Later this month we will be guiding the McCloud river in Northern Ca. I look forward to this trip, my days are completly booked (and a couple open days that I can smell the roses and spend time with my girls and friends on one of the finest rivers in the world )................................. We've been enjoying a mild spring to early summer down here in Bishop. Most of my guide days on the Lower Owens, East Walker, Bridgeport Res. and Hot Creek....its been really fun....we are now getting some expected run-off, but its painless. Our winter snow total was about half of a normal season but its all part of the cycle of the Sierra....this year we will fish water we havened fished in a couple years, because on high water last couple seasons. I love the diversity and the imagination that you have to put into the craft of finding fishable water. If you find your vacation days the same as the previous couple years, don't be surprised if the turn on the river is not the same......but remember, fish have to eat every day and remind yourself of the essents of the sport...explore, discover, crack the code, fish hard rest between hatches and look around and enjoy that you got the day off and your FISHING....and the bend in your fly rod will come.
