http://www.excelsportfishing.comHello Anglers, We arrived at Ben's Rock at San Martin at daylight and sat there with good water and current but we never hooked anything of note. We picked up the anchor and looked at another spot and had better water color and temperature and found there to be good sign around the shallow. When we got the anchor down we had a few fish boil around and finally hooked one , then two , then three and just had a steady bite on 22 to 30 pound yellowtail for a good hour or more. There was also some very large calico bass mixed in the first that we weighed was 10.2 pounds, the second we weighed was 10.9, and the third was an impressive 11.5 pounds and they were all released by there angler's. Not to often you get a chance to catch a Calico as big as those three. The rest of the afternoon we spent looking for yellowtail and tuna on kelps outside the island and found one kelp that we caught a couple of keeper yellowtail on and we called it a day at 1530. Our ETA is 0700 to Fisherman's Landing . Reported by: Shawn Steward
