Hello Anglers,

WOW, What an excellent way to end a trip.We started 30 miles west of our last bluefin area in hopes to find some trophies;and we did.The morning started out with a single jumping bluefin out on the horizon and quickly turned into a great bite on 85-150lbs. fish.I would have to say we hooked 40 of the shortfin,and due to light gear and underestimated size,we boated 20 of them.Clayton Smith caught the big fish of the day which taped out at 151 pounds.Unfortunately,we were quite a ways from San Diego so we literally left them biting so we could reach port on time on wed. morning.I am going to give some free advice for those who are coming out on a trip soon: make sure you bring appropriate gear to handle these giants.Because honestly,you never know when you will have a chance to catch your fish of a lifetime.
