http://www.excelsportfishing.comHello Anglers, I would like to welcome you to a day aboard the Excel. Today we arrived in the Albacore area at 9:30 in the morning, with a little more wind than we have had lately it made locating "jumpers" a little bit difficult. But the fish were cooperative enough to bite the jigs and show themselves on the sonar. It was pretty descent fishing throughout the late morning and early afternoon, we were even able to put together a stop for 50 Albacore right at lunch time. (It figures that as soon as the cooks make the first call for lunch the fish decide to bite). After that it slowed down a little, leaving us with exactly 100 Alby's for the day, and a couple of Bonito. Most of the Albacore were a nice grade between 22 to 28 pounds. Below is a picture of Rose Burns of Soft Steel and Mike Rameriz with one of the mornings first fish. We will be giving the Albacore another chance to bite in the morning before heading to Alijos rocks. We will check in with you fishermen (and fisher women) tomorrow night. Mike Pritchard
